Design notes
A table for every morning
Aamu means morning, and this is the table where the day starts: coffee, newspapers, homework, and on Saturdays a long lunch that turns into dinner. It is built to be used every day, not kept for guests.
The top is glued up from full-length staves chosen for colour and grain, so the surface reads as one calm piece. The legs are set in from the corners, which leaves room for a chair at each end.
Solid wood moves a little with the seasons. The top is fixed with wooden buttons that let it expand and shrink without cracking, and an oiled surface can be sanded and re-oiled at home if it gets marked.
